Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.

Success also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better service.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
